Project 52: Weeks 9-10

Week 9: Laughter

This little boy came into my studio and was all full of smiles.  He was the perfect model for week 9's theme of laughter.

Week 10: Self-Portrait

I've been working at improving my self-portraits over the past few weeks but this week I wanted to do something that was a bit more self-reflective.

It is not the size of the puddle that matters but rather if you choose to sink or swim.

Project 52 - Take 2

Alright, I failed...

My attempt at a Project 52 for 2013 did not go as I planned.  It doesn't help that I started the project late and that started the trend of being an awful procrastinator.

So a new New Years resolution... To actually stick with this year's Project 52.  There is a new list as well!  I will create a fun little graphic that can be pinned with the new list but for now I will just copy and paste.  This year's list is brought to you by Maria B Photo Shop.

Project 52: Week 33 - Textures

So it's no secret that we've moved to Washington state.  If anyone knows anything about the state, it's that it rains... a lot.  Moss grows on everything... And I mean everything...  Trees, roofs, stairs, etc. etc.  I'm pretty sure that if I stayed still long enough, moss would grow on me...

It makes sense that my texture image would be of moss.  This was taken of a fallen log off of the walking trail that is behind our house.

Project 52: Week 21 - Animals

I really feel like I don't take enough photos of our cat.  We tend to call her the red-headed step-child.  She always gets the blame for things and Mandi is quite obviously the favorite child in our family.  It's an unfortunate thing to say but it's true.  So here is a picture of our quite beautiful (but old) kitty.  This photo was taken while we were stuck in a hotel after we arrived in Washington.  You can see the traditional, cheap, hotel photos that hang above the bed in the background of the image.

A tad bit of trivia for this photo... There was actually a quite awful lens flare that showed up in the image that I had to edit out.  And now looking at the final image, there's still a part that I wish I had done a better job of editing.  I wont tell you what it is though, you'll have to figure it out on your own.  Here is original:

Project 52: Week 16 - Humor

Okay, so something a little humorous for this week's project 52.  If you don't laugh at this... Especially if you don't laugh at the image below then you have no sense of humor... Just kidding... But seriously...

Project 52: Week 31 - Bokeh

A dear friend from Germany picked up Project 52 when I started it at the beginning of 2013 and has done a far better job at keeping up with it than I have.  Seeing some of her posts today have inspired me to check up on my project 52 list.  I realized that I had a few images that I could use for the themes.  So I'll be posting a few images for a bit of catch-up.

Traveling to Marseille, France

Marseille was one of my favorite places that we visited while on our cruise.  It is a laid back town with lots of shopping and fantastic views if you go to the church at the top of the hill.  Here is a detailed description of our day in Marseille.

Upon arriving in port, you'll have to pay for a shuttle ride "into" the city.  I put quotes around into because you'll still have to walk about 15-20 minutes to get to the main hub.  The shuttle ride is pretty extortionate at about 15 euro per person but you'll receive a round trip on that amount as long as you don't lose your ticket throughout the day.  The shuttle will drop you next to the Cathedrale de la Major.  It will be on the other side of a wall but you'll get an outside view of it.  We did not have an opportunity to view the inside but the outside was quite impressive.

Traveling to Barcelona, Spain

I didn't see what all the hubbub was about while we were in Barcelona.  I could not count the number of people that have told me that Spain, Barcelona in particular, has been their favorite European stop. However, I did see many youths there drinking and partying so if that's your scene, it will probably be a great fit.  My husband and I however, are old people and can't stay up past 8 o'clock.

Here are the places we stopped by while our stay in Barcelona and my personal take on them.
