Homemade Taco Seasoning


No more packets!  Have you ever noticed how much sodium is in the pre-made taco seasoning packets that you buy at the store??  Well this method will be far cheaper and better than those packets.

For tacos, just use 2-3 Tbsp of this mix for each pound of beef (or turkey) with 1/3-1/2 cup of water (3 Tbsp leans a bit to the spicy side).  This usually lasts a good long time so be sure to store it in a closed container away from moisture.  You can even double this recipe if you frequently make tacos.  Helllooo Taco Tuesday! :-)




1/4 Cup Chili Powder
1 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
1 1/4 tsp Onion Powder
1 1/4 tsp Red Pepper Flakes
1 1/4 tsp Dried Oregano
2 1/2 tsp Paprika
1/8 cup and 1 1/2 tsp or 7 1/2 tsp ground Cumin
5 tsp Salt
5 tsp Black Pepper

Mix together in a small bowl and store in an air-tight container
