Military Monday - Germany Tip # 9

GPS is your friend.

I highly recommend purchasing a GPS for your duration in Europe.

We've been spending the last 6 months without it and I cannot count the number of times we have been lost and without a back-up plan because we do not own a GPS of any sort.

Google maps does an okay job with giving directions but if those directions go awry at all, it is nearly impossible to get back on track unless you have a comprehensive map of the place you are traveling to.  I would suggest going the old school route and just purchasing maps but not only does it eventually get expensive but a lot of maps are even nearly impossible to find!  Most of the ones I find in bookstores and shops are only of the larger cities and don't show half of the things you really need.

If you're going to spend the money, might as well get a GPS.

We're looking at a few Garmin's right now so I'll let you know how that works out for us.
